Layer views
Work in Compact Layers view to maximize your workspace; switch to Detailed Layers view when you want more information about your layers. Use the icons at the top of the Task bar to switch between layer views.

Layer stacking order
The 'Full' version of Photoshop is now out for iPad. How do you feel about the missing features & tools that are in the Desktop version of Photoshop? The iPad Is Soon, Finally, Getting a Full Version of Adobe Photoshop. Apple's about to get a big assist from Adobe when it comes to the company's efforts to legitimize.
Photoshop For Apple Ipad Pro
- Tap a layer to select it.
- Drag the layer up or down in the layer stack to change the front to back arrangement of content in the image.
Add a photo from your Camera Roll
- Tap the Place Image tool in the Toolbar, choose Camera Roll, and navigate to a photo in the Camera Roll. The photo opens in Transform mode.
- Drag the handles on the blue Transform boundary to scale or reshape the placed image. Press inside the boundary and drag to move the placed image.
- Tap Done to exit Transform mode.
Apply a layer blend mode
- Tap the Layer Properties icon in the Task bar to open the Layer Properties panel with controls that affect the selected layer.
- In the Layer Properties panel, tap the Blend Mode menu and choose a blend mode to blend the active layer with the layers below.
Select multiple layers
There are several reasons to select multiple layers. You may want to move or transform different layers together. Or you may want to group layers to organize them.
- Tap one layer in the Layers panel to select it.
- In the Task bar, tap the Three-Dot icon and choose Begin multi-select mode.
- Tap the checkbox on other layers to add them to the layer selection.
Tip: Alternatively, you could use the Touch Shortcut to select multiple layers. Tap one layer in the Layers panel to select it. Then press and hold the Touch Shortcut as you tap other layers to add them to the layer selection.
Group layers
- With multiple layers selected, tap the Folder icon in the Task bar to create a layer group in the Layers panel.
- To view the layers in the group, double-tap the group thumbnail in Compact Layers view or tap the triangle to the left of the group in Detailed Layers view.

Search the IOS App Store for just Adobe.
If you want to maintain an all Adobe workflow, for Photoshop, in order to get most of Photoshop's functionality on a computer, you will need to use all of the various Adobe Photoshop apps to work with.
If you use an older version of Photoshop and not the current Adobe creative cloud suite with subscription, most of Adobe's apps, in order to better integrate will need to pay for a CreativeCloud monthly subscription or login to your Creative Cloud account if you already pay for a subscription.
If using an older version of Photoshop, you will need to use a Cloud service like DropBox or Box or some other Cloud Service, like Apple's iCloud Drive, Amazon Cloud Drive or GoogleDrive to be able to bandy your work back and forth between your iPad and computer.
Adobe, I guess, won't or doesn't know how to create one version of Photoshop on iOS that is a close approximation to Photoshop on a full blown computer.
Adobe has broken up full Photoshop into a variety of apps to cover different Photoshop areas.
You'll end up using multiple Photoshop apps to cover everything you do with full Photoshop.
You'll end up using multiple apps for doing a great many things, that maybe easier on a computer, no matter what, anyhow.
This is how iOS works.
There is no one app that will cover everything you may need.
Working in iOS is mostly working with multiple apps.
For image editing work and digital painting and illustration work, you will find you will have to constantly import/export files from one app to another.
If you do not like this multiple iOS Photoshop app approach, then your only alternatives are Pixelmator for iPad and maybe, in addition, Procreate.
I use quite a few image editing apps and painting apps, but both Pixelmator and Procreate are the apps that are at the top apps on my large iPad Pro.
There are other image editors and painting apps that you can use
